Wednesday 14th May - Timber Creek (Victoria River Cruise)

Tonight Barry & I are doing the Victoria River Cruise. Have heard some good reports so we will wait and see.  We leave the caravan park at 4.00pm and return at 7.30pm.  Really looking forward to it. (see below)

What an absolutely fantastic night we have had...Neville, who did the tour was very informative and took the old red bus (circa 1971) past the old Police Museum and a grave at a Boab Tree right beside the road on our way to Big Horse Creek where the boat was moored. We then traveled 35kms down the Victoria River to where a pontoon was moored.  There were Crocodiles and bird life as well as a huge Brahma Bull and we stopped and ran the boat into the bank where he fed some whistling kites and a beautiful Sea Eagle. On the pontoon, where we stopped for drinks and nibbles, Neville threw a fishing line in and caught a small catfish that he put on a feeding tray attached to an arm and straight away a beautiful Sea Eagle flew down and took the fish. To top it off there was a magnificent sunset, all in all a great experience.
